The EAST Hybrid Pod is called EASTSP.
Participating libraries must agree to the following parameters of the EASTSP Hybrid Pod:
Delivery Time: 7 days
Loan period: 84 days (12 weeks)
Cost: Zero
Allow renewal: Yes, not automatic
Maximum renewals allowed: 1
Expiry time: 4 days
Any EAST member library already using or willing to use either Alma Resource Sharing (Peer-to-Peer) or Rapido can join the EASTSP Hybrid Pod.
To join the EASTSP Hybrid Pod, the library must have a current entry in the Alma Resource Sharing Directory. Once the entry is created, please contact EAST at info@eastlibraries.org to request the library be added to the EASTSP Hybrid Pod and include the library’s Alma Library Code.
What you need to do once your library is added to the EASTSP Hybrid Pod depends on whether you are using Rapido or Alma Resource Sharing (Peer-to-Peer).
No action is needed by the participating Rapido libraries. However, libraries using Alma Resource Sharing (Peer-to-Peer) will need to make additional configurations in order to begin receiving requests. In short, these libraries will need to attach participating (loanable) items for the pod, order the priority of this pod in their borrowing policies, and download pod partner entries from the Alma Resource Sharing Directory. A full description of peer-to-peer configurations can be found in this documentation prepared by Maggie Mason-Smith of PASCAL. If you have any questions, please contact info@eastlibraries.org.
This is an option that can be turned on/off. The "Supports ADD address" setting in the Partner record controls whether the requester's email is included. (See Resource Sharing Partners - Ex Libris Knowledge Center)
Yes, just say no to things you don't want to loan for the extended loan period. If you’re a Alma Resource Sharing (Peer-to-Peer) library, you can use the Alma Resource Sharing Directory configs to auto-deflect any location that you don’t want to lend from.
The EASTSP hybrid pod is a new offering for EAST Partners participating in either Rapido or Alma Resource Sharing (Peer-to-Peer) and is not used with RapidILL. The EAST pod in RapidILL is exclusively for use with Ex Libris’ RapidILL service, though libraries using both RapidILL and Rapido can access RapidILL services through Rapido.
